Dyador originates from a collaboration at the University of Bristol between leading academics in Cellular, Molecular and Chemical Sciences. Its objective is to employ nanoparticle technologies for significantly improved bacterial identification.

The problem

Current bacterial identification methods are often time consuming, complex and require specialised equipment and trained personnel. Reliance on traditional culture-based techniques delays pathogen identificiation, diagnosis and treatment by several days. Although molecular methods are faster, expensive equipment and complex procedures make these techniques inaccessible to many.
